Leicestershire is called the Heart of England. It has some stunning scenery, parklands and attractions. It is no wonder that Leicester weddings are increasing in popularity. There has been a lot of well needed regeneration in the city lately. It seemed that its neighbours, Nottingham and Birmingham were being hugely developed and having cash poured in to them but Leicester was being left out in the rain.
Now though Leicester is getting on a par with its neighbours. There has been a new shopping centre built as well as an arts centre, buildings have been cleaned, streets pedestrianized and re-paved and renovation still continues in parts of the city.
With this regeneration has come an influx of businesses such as hotels and eateries. There are now a greater number of city centre hotels such as Ibis, Ramada Jarvis, Campanile and what is described as one of Leicester’s best – The City Rooms. These places are great venues for Leicester weddings.
With the economy still recovering from the recent recession many people are looking for alternative wedding venues to try and save some money. Many are now starting to hire restaurant’s to hold their wedding receptions in. With an enormous amount of new restaurants in Leicester such as ZiZi’s, CafĂ© Rouge and The Almanac the choice for perspective brides and grooms has greatly increased.
Leicestershire has some wonderful old churches for the perfect wedding ceremony. There is an array of villages surrounding the city and each of them with their own church. There is St Mary’s church in Melton Mowbray, St Martin’s Cathedral in the city centre and St Peters in Whetstone amongst many others.
There are also many popular spots for photographs in and around Leicester. Many Leicester Weddings have been photographed in such places as Bradgate Park, The Botanical Gardens, Castle Park and at various stately homes in the county. With such homes as Belgrave Hall, Quenby Hall and Belvoir Castle close at hand couples are spoilt for choice.
